g2 nord hel macdonald's sponsor partnership

G2 Esports officially announced today a partnership with McDonald's Germany, which becomes the presenting partner of its League of Legends academy team in the Prime League, G2 NORD. The deal also funds the return of G2 Hel, the organization's women's team, which will compete in the upcoming Game Changers circuit.

The logo and the slogan "ich liebe es" will appear on the jerseys of both rosters. McDonald's and G2 are planning a series of content throughout the year centered on Niklot "Tolkin" Stüber, with a backstage and player storytelling angle.

G2 NORD on the rise and the return of G2 Hel

Born in early 2026 from the merger between G2 and NORD Esports, the academy structure made a strong impression in its very first split with a second-place finish at the Prime League Winter.

Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2:

"With McDonald's Germany as the presenting partner of G2 NORD, we're not only strengthening our competitive ecosystem in the region, but also reinforcing our belief in building a more inclusive future for esports. The revival of G2 Hel is a major step in that direction, and we're proud to work with a partner that recognizes the importance of supporting women in esports and investing in long-term progress for the industry."

On the women's side, G2 Hel returns to play after a financial hiatus. The team had dominated the European women's LoL scene before being put on hold due to lack of funding, and its return on Game Changers — a circuit that Riot is promoting as a development pathway for professional female players — is part of G2's stated commitment to putting female representation back at the heart of its competitive project.

Stijn Mentrop-Huliselan, CMO of McDonald's Germany:

"McDonald's has always been about bringing people together. Gaming is one of the most vibrant topics out there today, uniting fans worldwide. So this partnership is a natural fit for us and is built on a simple belief: community first. We're proud to support G2 Nord and to celebrate the return of G2 Hel – a strong signal for equity, visibility and inclusion in esports."

An announcement video produced in-house by G2, featuring Jankos, Sola, Tolkin, Caltys and the NORD roster, accompanies the launch of the collaboration. The agency Scholz & Friends led the creative side for McDonald's.
